Frequently asked questions

Answers about shortening links, expiration, link management, statistics and safety.

What to know before shortening a link

How do short links work?

The system creates a short link connected to the URL you provide. When someone opens it, they are taken to the destination website.

Does shortening change the original URL?

No. It does not change the original URL or website content. A short link is another way to reach the same destination.

Do I need to sign up first?

No. You can shorten links on the homepage right away. An account lets you manage links across devices and use the features included in your package.

Do short links expire?

A link without an expiration date has no scheduled end date. However, it may still be deleted, suspended or become unavailable if it violates the terms, the destination closes or the service changes.

Does “no expiration” mean a link works forever?

It means no expiration date has been set. It is not a guarantee that the link or destination website will remain available forever.

Where are links created without an account?

Open “My links” in the browser you used to create them. Clearing cookies, using private browsing or switching devices may prevent you from seeing the previous list.

How are accounts different from packages?

An account keeps your links together for management. Packages offer different link limits and features. See the packages page for details.

Can I choose my own short-link alias?

Yes, if your package supports it. The alias must meet the required format and length, and must not already be in use or reserved.

Can I edit or delete a link?

This depends on your account permissions and package. Changing a destination may require another check. After a link is deleted, the system may retain summary information needed for operations, financial records or security.

Can I add a password or expiration date?

Yes, if your package supports it. A link password limits access through the short link, but does not replace the destination website's security.

Do click counts equal the number of people?

Not necessarily. One person may click more than once, and the system may filter bot traffic. Some statistics may take time to update.

What does awaiting review mean?

The destination check is not complete yet. Whether the link can be opened while waiting depends on the service settings. Results reflect the time of the check and do not guarantee permanent safety.

Why was a link suspended?

It may pose a risk or violate the terms. If you think there has been a mistake, contact us with the link and relevant details.

What should I do if a link shows a missing page?

Check that you copied the entire link. It may have been deleted, expired or never existed. If the problem continues, contact the link creator or let us know.

Can I create a QR code for a link?

Yes. Use the link's QR code option and test it before publishing.

Can I use short links in ads or on social media?

Yes, subject to each platform's rules. Some platforms may restrict short links or impose additional conditions.

How can I check a link before opening it?

Use the link checker to view destination information and status. Results can help you decide, but do not guarantee that a website is safe.

How do I report a harmful link?

Open the report page and provide the short link, a reason and details that help with review. Do not send passwords, one-time codes or confidential information.

Where can I get help?

Use the contact page and include the link, the time the problem occurred and any error message. Send only the information needed to investigate.
